Being a small and charming district only 7 km away, Ayvalık attracts many tourists from the surrounding provinces. Especially on Thursdays, people of the surrounding villages flock to Ayvalık because of the Ayvalık market. In the inner parts of the city, it is possible to encounter Turkish – Greek architectures of Mediterranean. There are 22 islands of various sizes in and around Ayvalık. You can explore these fascinating natural islands with daily yacht or boat tours. Every morning around 11:00 – 11:30, boats sail from Ayvalık port and Sarımsaklı coast for sightseeing. In addition, trips to the ancient cities of Bergama (45 km), Troy (175 km), Assos-Behramkale (80 km) and Ephesus (200 km) are organized.
